Moments Of Silence

The colour choices in this picture are very good. The red sky gives it a sense of forboding and suits the warlike image of the bombs. The rich green of the grass suits the almost cliched farm image: quiet, peaceful, idyllic.
The combination of the two gives a good contrast and sets the scene well.

I think that the falling bombs are a good idea but need to be positioned differently. The pattern, as it is, is quite ordered looking. They're falling in two clear columns and the one on the left is almost perfectly lined up - something that wouldn't happen in real life!

I think that showing the ones at the top of the screen to be further to the left than the lower ones would give the impression that the aircraft that dropped them was moving at the time. You've done this to a small extent already, but I think it would be moving a lot faster than your spread suggests. I also think that the bombs should be falling faster than they appear to be (spacing them further apart might achieve this) although if you're aiming for a frozen moment look this wouldn't cause a problem.

I like the idea of the picture, and if you ever do any further work on it I'd love to see any changes!
